Ivorians have started trolling Cameroon after the Indomitable Lions find themselves in a dicey situation ahead of their final AFCON 2023 qualifiers Match with Burundi on Tuesday in Garoua.
The 34th edition of the biennial African association football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football will be held from 13 January to 11 February in Ivory Coast.
According to the Ivorian Fans, Cameroon must qualify for 2023 for both countries to continue their rivalry.
“We will make AFCON to be 25 teams to enable be in Ivory Coast if they fail to beat Burundi on Tuesday”. Said an Ivorian.
Currently, Namibia, who have played all their games, have 5 points, followed by Cameroon with 4 and Burundi with 4.
A win for Cameroon against Burundi on September tomorrow guarantees qualification for Cameroon. In case of a defeat, Cameroon will not qualify for AFCON 2023. In case of a draw, all 3 sides in the group will have 5 points each and rules will have to be applied to select the two best sides.
According to Cameroon coach Rigobert Song, nets are going to shake tomorrow “Whether they go high or low, tomorrow the nets are going to shake. We have had time to work and know what we need to do to put the Burundi side in difficulty.”
