Team Nigeria leads Africa Countries medal haul after clinching two medals on day 6 of the Paralympics Games.
Folashade Oluwafemiayo become the latest Nigerian Powerlifter to strike Gold at the Paralympics, surpassing her previous WR of 150.5kg to win women’s -86kg with a lift of 152kg.
She made her intent known with her 1st lift of 147kg, shattering the Paralympic Record (PR) of 135kg with that lift.
Her subsequent 3 attempts (149kg, 151kg & 152kg) either broke the PR or set a new World Record (2). China’s Feifei Zheng who Silver, lifted 139kg as Oluwafemiayo was a class apart!
Also Loveline Obiji clinched Silver in women’s +86g lifting 147kg! She wrapped up Nigeria’s participation in Powerlifting and brought the country’s haul to 6 medals.
