Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president says Zambia’s Wednesday game against Senegal at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) will be a defining moment for the team.
In his president’s corner, Andrew Kamanga says the game promises to take the squad into unchartered waters with a maiden FIFA World Cup qualification on the horizon.
“The Wednesday game will be a defining moment for the Copper Queens. It will be a game that promises to take the squad into unchartered waters with FIFA World Cup qualification on the horizon,” Kamanga said.
Kamanga notes that it will be a huge test for the Copper Queens, but the Association delegation is continuously communicating with the team about the significance of the mission ahead.
“It will be a huge test for the team, but we are continuously conversing with the team about the significance of the mission ahead.”
Kamanga has urged the public to rally behind the team, including the ineligible players whose crusade the Association is pursuing on the side-lines of the WAFCON.
The Copper Queens achieved a historic quarterfinal feat for the first time in the nation’s participation at the Africa Cup of Nations.
