Former Bafana Bafana midfielder Thabo Mngomeni believes the national team gained nothing but humiliation in Tuesday’s international friendly against France.
Bafana Bafana of South Africa was thrashed 5-0 by France in a friendly game in Paris.
“We gained nothing but humiliation,” Mngomeni told the media.
“We really need to swallow our pride a bit, people like Pitso Mosimane we really need to bring them back.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s believed they are arrogant, which person is not arrogant in this world?
“As South Africans, we know exactly what’s our problem.
“We’ve got Sundowns who are using three coaches, why don’t we include at least one of them in our technical team?
“Why are we always relying on foreigners who don’t produce any results?
“Every time they get here they promise to teach us something, for how long we’ve been learning from them but we are not progressing? Are we that dom as South Africans?
“What is it that we going to lose by using our local coaches?
“It’s not the first time as South Africans we face players on the same level as Giroud, Mbappe, coached by our local coaches and we’ve never lost by such crazy scores, we always gave them a tough time.
“We’ve been building, building, building, learning, learning, learning since ever these foreign coaches started coaching our national team.
