Saudi Arabia will take on Liberia in an international friendly at the 14:10GMT (2:10PM Liberian time and 5:10PM Saudi time) at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.

It followed an agreement between the Liberia Football Association (LFA) and Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) to play two international friendlies in Riyadh on 27 March and 30 March.

Liberia will feature a senior team while Saudi Arabia will field an under-23 team as it prepares for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games, which will be held from 23 July to 8 August in Tokyo, Japan.

The Tokyo Games were originally due to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020 but postponed in March 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

It will be their third appearance, having participated at Los Angeles 1984 and Atlanta 1996.

Liberia head coach Peter Butler and technical staff will use the matches to prepare for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

Butler will begin Liberia’s Group ‘C’ campaign in May against Nigeria, Cape Verde and Central African Republic.

The six matchdays will run from 31 May to 12 October pending the fixtures from FIFA/CAF.
