According to Nigerian Journalist Andrew Randa, the Ghana National Football Team trained for the mandatory hour at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium ahead of the return fixture with Nigeria but refused to leave the field for groundsmen to work.
According to him, CAF officials appealed to Ghana but they still refused to leave the field, Few minutes after all appealed to the Ghana team to no avail, the stadium lights went off and Ghana were left in total darkness.
