CS Ababu also added that state of Kinoru stadium is not reflective of the amounts the government has spent on its construction. “Our standards as Kenya Kwanza government are way higher and the people of Meru deserved better standards than this.” He said.

He also spoke on the need to construct stadias of international standards which he said are key to the development of players, further adding that Kenya need stadias that can protect players from injuries amd facilities that comfortably accommodate international CAF and FIFA games.

He confirmed that he has ordered audit on recently constructed stadias across the country to ascertain their standards vis a vis the amounts spent.

CS Ababu Namwamba also revealed that Kenya was planning on bidding to host the Africa Cup of Nations tournament jointly with the East Africa partner nations. “We want Confederation of African Football and FIFA to find our facilities worthy of hosting their event.
