The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) wishes to congratulate Nkana and Napsa for the first leg victories in the CAF Confederation Cup pre-group stage.
Nkana recorded a 2-0 home win to Moroccan outfit to Tihad Athletique de Casablanca while Napsa Stars were 1-0 winners away to Kenyan outfit Gor Mahia.
FAZ president Andrew Kamanga says the victories puts the two sides in good stead to qualify to the lucrative group stage.
“On behalf of my executive committee, I wish to congratulate the two sides for winning their first legs. It is a good start and puts them in a strong position to finish the job in the second round and qualify to the group stage,” Kamanga says.
“We would like to urge them to work hard ahead of the second legs to be played in a week’s time.”
Kamanga says consistent appearance of Zambian teams in CAF competitions will help preserve the country’s four slots in continental competitions.
Napsa won the match courtesy of a Daniel Adoko goal while Fred Tshimenga and Daniel Masumbuko gave Nkana victory at Nkana Stadium.
Winners over two legs will qualify to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
