On November 27th, the Online Unveiling and Opening Ceremony of Nigeria Luban Workshop was held simultaneously in Tianjin, China and Abuja, Nigeria.
This is the second Luban Workshop that CCECC has jointly established in Africa following its participation in the establishment of Africa’s first Luban Workshop in 2019 – the Luban Workshop in Djibouti.
At the ceremony, CCECC signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission, in which both sides will cooperate to establish the Luban Workshop and vocational training centers to jointly cultivate Chinese and foreign professional talents and share teaching achievements.
The project is named after Luban, the father of Chinese architecture from around the 4th century B.C, and aims at providing state-of-the-art technical and vocational training. The Nigeria Luban Workshop will offer course majors including Urban Rail Transit Traffic Management and Urban Rail Transit Vehicles, etc, providing high-end technical skills training to help college students meet the demands of the market.
CCECC also cooperated with Tianjin Railway Technical and Vocational College to establish a railway technology training center in Idu. As an important part of the Nigeria Luban Workshop, the center, combined with the railway education center established at the University of Abuja, will realize the successful combination of academic education and skills training in Nigeria.
This will ultimately help contribute to the professional development and talent training in Nigeria’s rail transit industry.
