The Confederation of Africa Football, CAF has approved the Abuja Moshood Abiola National Stadium for the 2022 World Cup Playoffs between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Black Stars of Ghana.
In a letter sent to the Nigeria Football Federation on February 3rd 2022 shows the thrilling encounter between both West Africa countries will hold at the Nigerian Capital between March 27th to 29th while the first leg will take place in Ghana between march 24th to 26th.
The 60,000 Capacity Stadium was inspected by the CAF inspection team few weeks back after Dangote groups over the newly renovated stadium to the Nigeria Sports Ministry in November 2021.
The Moshood Abiola stadium will also host the return leg fixtures of Nigeria vs Cameroon FIFA U20 Women World Cup Qualifiers on Saturday February 5th 2022, before hosting the first leg of AWCON 2022 qualifiers between Nigeria and Ivory Coast later this month.
The Moshood Abiola Stadium was opened in 2003 where it hosted the 2003 All Africa Games and matches of the 2009 FIFA U17 World Cup including the final between Nigeria and Switzerland.
