All 24 Teams knows foes with the draws of the 2021 Africa Nation Cup in Cameroon.
Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions, five-time tournament champs, will host Burkina Faso for the tournament- and Group A-opener in Yaoundé on January 9. Ethiopia and Cap Verde round out Group A.
The draw for the biennial competition took place in Cameroon’s capital, Yaounde, on Tuesday night.
Egypt, seven-time winners , will face Nigeria in Group D in another highly anticipated first-round match. Sudan and Guinea Bissau will accompany both teams.
Senegal, another contender for the final victory, with its star Sadio Mané, inherited group B with Malawi, Guinea and Zimbabwe. Ghana and Morocco will start as favorites in Group C against the Panthers of Gabon and Comoros.
Defending champs and tournament favourites Algeria lead a strong Group E that includes Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea and Ivory Coast, while Group F will see Tunisia, Mali, Mauritania and Gambia squaring off.
The competition in Cameroon, initially scheduled for 2021, was postponed to January-February 2022 because of the pandemic.
