According to Nigerian Journalist , Abdul Momoh the Indigenes of Garoua has called on Nigeria President Muhmmadu Buhari to construct the road linking Nigeria to Cameroon Yola- Belel Road to further cement the relationship between the two countries.
Supporters were spotted in the stadium on Wednesday during Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Guinea-Bissau with banners requesting for help from President Buhari in developing the economy of Garoua.
Garoua is in the Northern Cameroon and is hosting Group D of the ongoing 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, where the Super Eagles of Nigeria have emerged top with a a a 100% win ratio.
Garoua is dominated by Fulani Nigerians speaking Fufude, French Mafa, and Laka Mundang. The city’s main businesses are Coton, maize and groundnut. The prominent religion is Islam and a pocket of Christianity. Duban horse raising is one of the major festivals.
Garoua also boost an International Airport, a University with two recognised FIFA sports stadiums and home to Cameroon giants, Coton Sports Football Club.
