The Chipolopolo have settled in the humid and occasionally drizzling Douala environs as they prepare for the October 7, Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Equatorial Guinea.
On Friday afternoon the team trained from the immaculately tended to Bonamoussadi Stadium in the heart of Douala.
The Bonamoussadi Stadium is one of the pitches being touted as training venues for the next year’s Africa Cup of Nations to be hosted by Cameroon.
Zambia will be in Cameroon for a weeklong camp as part of the acclimatization ritual prior to facing Equatorial Guinea in Malabo.
Cameroon’s proximity to Equatorial Guinea makes it the perfect launchpad for the Malabo assignment.
The Chipolopolo take on the Nzalang Nacional away on October 7 before hosting the West Africans three days later at the National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.
Zambia is in second place with three points alongside the Nzalang Nacional who enjoy an inferior goal difference while Tunisia tops Group B with six points.
Mauritania is at the foot of the table with naught points.
Fourteen local players are in Douala with foreign based players expected to join after featuring for their clubs over the weekend.
